A 28-year-old woman resident of Rampura Phul in Bathinda district of Punjab was killed after her hair got stuck in a chain of a go-kart in an amusement park located near Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore on Wednesday noon.
Family members said Amardeep Singh, his wife Puneet Kaur, the victim, their two-year old son and relatives from Canada had come for an outing. All of them stayed at a relative’s house in Chandigarh on Tuesday night. They went to Timber Trail in Parwanoo on Wednesday morning and then decided to visit the amusement park.
Sources said Puneet was wearing a helmet but her hair came loose and entangled in the chain set of the go-kart. As the go-kart moved on, her scalp was pulled out, a horrifying sight that her husband, family members and visitors watched in shock.
The family did not file any police complaint. Bobby Mann, a relative, said, “It is an accidental death. We do not want a police case against anyone right now. We just want to receive the body and take her back home for the last rites.”
At General Hospital, Sector 6, the husband, son and other family members were inconsolable as they waited for the body after the post-mortem, which now would be conducted on Thursday.
Sub-inspector, Raj Pal, the investigating officer, said, “Family members have not given any complaint against any person. We will take necessary action on the basis of the complaint received by us.”
