Umpteen days gone by since Mustafizur Rahman had been seen in his real best; while some people started making holes to write the lost case of ‘Fizz’, the young gun blazed in all fires against West Indies, emerged as a real time hero for the visitors in gaining the emphatic series win in the Caribbean soil.
Just like his fans and followers in and outside the country, the Indian Premier League franchise in which Mustafizur belongs, Mumbai Indians also voiced their pleasure upon watching the left hand pacer shining under the Caribbean sun.
Mumbai Indians social media wing posted, “With 8 wickets in three matches against Windies, Mustafizur finished as the leading wicket taker and played a pivotal role in helping Bangladesh win the T20I series against the world champions.”
Mustafizur, 21, missed the Test series in the beginning of the tour due to injured shoulder before joining with the camp for limited over and afterwards the T20 international series.
The prodigious pacer claimed 2 for 35 in the first ODI in Guyana followed by another 2 for 44 in the second match.
He, therefore, captured a single wicket conceding 63 runs in the last match of the limited over series.
The Shatkhira pacer showed better exhibition of skills in the shortest version series taking 2 for 18 bowling 2 overs including a maiden in the first match in St. Kitts although Bangladesh lost in that occasion.
Bouncing back in Florida, Bangladesh ultimately took the series in their favors. Mustafizur captured 3 for 50 in the second encounter followed by another 3 for 31 in the third and last occasion in Lauderhill. 1 of 1
